My friend and yours, Ben McCool (pictured) is signing tonight at Jim Hanley’s Universe from 6 to 8. He’ll be signing the brand new trade paperback of PIGS, the best piece of conspiracy noir coming from someone who is not named Brubaker.
On Wednesday, February 8 beginning at 6:00 pm, JHU Welcomes Back writer Ben McCoool (Choker, Memoir), signing copies of the brand new trade paperback of his Image series Pigs! All EXCLUSIVELY at Jim Hanley’s Universe in Manhattan, Where Fans and Creators Meet!
Come by, grab some comics, get a pint later.
A completely awesome cover for PIGS #1 by jordiecolorsthings and Declan Shalvey:
Hey y’all. I did this cover with Declan a while back for the writers Nate Cosby and Ben McCool.
Pigs is gruesomely great! Everyone should pick it up this week!
You guys are all picking up this #1 today right? Another week, another ton of number 1s. Including one in particular I’m really psyched for, but this is also completely worth your three dollars (hey: it might just have more pages in this issue than some of the number 1s today for the same price or a dollar more!). PIGS #1 is written by wonderful gents Nate Cosby (it’s Nate’s first published work as a writer! Buy it; don’t make Daffodil pout) and Ben McCool with art by newcomer Breno Tamura. If you need more convincing check out a review at iFanboy and read some pages for free. I’m pretty sure we’re in for a pretty wonderful read.
Comics Pick of the Week: MEMOIR #1 by Ben McCool and Nikki Cook. Here’s a video of them discussing the book. They’re also signing at Jim Hanley’s tonight.
I didn’t include this earlier because it deserves its own post but Choker, done by my friends Ben McCool and Ben Templesmith, was my comic of the year. Now I know I’m biased mostly because these guys get me drunk, and not just drunk but wild adventure-drunk. I don’t have adventure drunks anymore because I’m a workaholic, but they are without a doubt my favorite people in comics. I know if I go to a convention that isn’t NYCC I want to make sure these guys are there, because—without a doubt—I’ll have the best possible time I can have at that convention. Fortunately, I see Mr. McCool on a regular basis because he lives in NYC and we get together to talk shop over a couple of beers. I’m so happy this book got the success it did and served as the coming out party for Ben (McCool). Cheers, guys!
John Cassaday’s cover for my friends Ben McCool and Nikki Cook’s book, MEMOIR.
I am so insanely jealous and happy for my friends.
